Another Good Idea From The Government | March 29, 2006 at 06:26 PM

I think it is a very good idea. I don't know how I have managed to survive this long without ever having scalded myself in a bath or shower that was too hot. Clearly I have been putting my life into my hands every time I have run a hot tap

Perhaps we should pass a new law requiring aspiring politicians to go through a series of tests to prove they have some common sense before they are allowed to run for office. Those who fail the tests are promptly executed.

If you regularly get hit/kickd/pinched/bitten youd get used to most of that too

I know schoolchildren are more unruly these days, but I didn't think being a teacher was THAT bad!

Reading FC making it into the Premiership after a mere 135 years!!!!!

People up in North Wales have some pretty strange tastes...

Well you do get the occasional idiot who thinks that a t-shirt, bermuda shorts and flip flops are suitable attire for spending a day walking in the Welsh hills in the middle of winter.

Happily, nobody ever makes that mistake twice...

Wait until you get done for speeding.

Another thing I like is walking in my local hills when it's snowing and there's nobody else around.

Another thing I like: the avatar Ivory did for me. She got my facial expression just right

Owch. I hope you left some seriously negative feedback.

If it's any help, a freeware media player called VLC Media Player can handle North American DVDs on my European DVD drive without any problems.

I'm somewhat suspicious and annoyed abou the fact that when I give Windows Media Player the same task, it tells me that it will hav to change the coding of my DVD drive, and if I do it more than five times, the change becomes permanant.

I hate the whole regional DVD encoding thing. The only logic beind it that I can see is to protect retailers who charge £15 for a DVD that cost 5p to manufacture from cheap foreign imports. It certainaly does not benefit consumers

Happy Birthday Fullauto | March 22, 2006 at 06:55 PM

FullAuto: Thank you, thank you. Another step closer to the grave, eh? Beautiful!

It only gets worse - wait until you hit 30.

Young people nowadays don't know they're born...
I'm cold. Where's my cardigan?

Also, why didn't Nigel Lawson deliver the budget?

Pet Hates | March 22, 2006 at 06:52 PM

You missed off players swapping shirts at full time

What really annoys me is the way a football player will just roll over and die if an opponent gets within ten yards of him. Nobody's fooled these days...

*Blood pressure shoots through the roof*

Okay, where's my axe? Time to cut everybody at Hollywood down to size.

Pet Hates | March 20, 2006 at 07:27 PM

I mean, what happened to the notion that how you play is more important than whether you win or lose?

Chelsea's defeat was away from home, so I'm surprised they didn't complain about the state of the pitch as well.

V For Vendetta | March 20, 2006 at 07:24 PM

Hollywood portray the British as villains? There's something original.

I think it is an exaggeration to claim that every Hollywood film depicts the British as villains. What about the ones that take credit for something we did? How would we have won the war if they hadn't captured a German Enigma device for us?

And if you want to know how racist Hollywood is even today, check out the directors commentary for the DVD of The Day After Tommorrow. There's a scene when one of the British characters is saying goodbye to his wife and their baby son, and he kisses her.

The studio executives hated that scene because the male character was black and the female character was white, and the director ended up having a major fight with them. I suspect he would have lost had the two characters been American - all Americans know that we Europeans are morally backward

Pet Hates | March 20, 2006 at 07:03 PM

Continuing my long list of things I hate; petulant football managers such as Alex Ferguson and Jose Mourinho.

Everybody who follows the English Premiership knows that Chelsea are going to win the title by a massive margin. They suffered a rare defeat over the weekend, and how do you think Jose Mourinho responded?

A. Graciously congratulated their opponents on their acheivement.

B. Claimed that all the referees are conspiring against his team and accused his opponents of cheating.
