Aftermath - Ufo Series | January 5, 2006 at 08:23 PM

Gulp! I suppose I should be able to run Aftermath but you just know when they give ideal stats they mean, "Try and run it on less and your chip will explode and be fired out the fan apperture." Well, what the hell, it's only a fiver.

Aftermath - Ufo Series | January 5, 2006 at 07:19 PM

I can get a new copy from ebay for less than a fiver but I think my PC will farts it's bowels out if I even show it the packaging.

What's the minimum spec?

So This Is Christmas? | January 4, 2006 at 09:52 PM

When Do You Take Yours Down? | January 4, 2006 at 09:50 PM

Okay - FullAuto has a point here, I'll leave mine up and stay off work. I like it!

Violence In Computer Games! | January 4, 2006 at 12:32 PM

I know you don't want to go too much into this but I think this is a great idea and a chance to find out about peoples choices in games. I also think there is mileage in noting percentages of violent to none violent games. Okay I'm off to see what I have got - this may take some time.

Edit:

Hells bells, I've just been sat here thinking about what you said 'IE not getting too involved' it suddenly occured that if we use the 'all violence' criteria it probably icludes everything but Sim-needlework and Stamp Tycoon! This is complicated. Okay - disregard any posts I made on this subject

Edit 2:

I thought I had it taped, that is until the girlfriend pointed out that "Robot Wars" is a great example of a game where no one gets killed but it's full of mindless violence.
Mmm, anyway, here's my list in 3 catagories.

32 games - all PC 15 violent, 12 semi violent and 5 none violent.

Violence In Computer Games! | January 4, 2006 at 10:57 AM

I think this is a good idea but lets be more objective about it - for instance, does anything that has war in the theme constitute violence and how would you categorise a game such as Civilization or the X-Com series? After all, people die. War is hell!

Coldplays Protection On New Cd | January 4, 2006 at 10:52 AM

Pete:

You just know it's going to be cracked and spread all over the web in a matter of minutes now just to prove a point

Noooooo please no, not all over the web. It's bad enough hearing them on the radio.

2006 | December 31, 2005 at 01:22 PM

I think Bin-Laden will come out of hiding and create a five piece rock band called "The Cave".

2006 | December 30, 2005 at 07:42 PM

Yeah and Elvis is their leader, Uh uh.

2006 | December 30, 2005 at 07:26 PM

In some parts of the world it is traditional at this time of the year to make predictions for the new year. Not the obvious ones like there will be a war or disasters or even Goerge Bush will make a fool of himself - more like, "Madonna will be run down by a speeding car so she can't make any more shyte records like her last one." and I'm the man to carry that one out.

Make yours here.

Friday Fumblings On The Web | December 30, 2005 at 05:33 PM

cyke: I think the fact its a link becomes hard to see if your monitor settings are off, tho it should be underlined as a link

Yes that's the case - got it now. Ta

Edit:
"20. The Queen has never been on a computer, she told Bill Gates as she awarded him an honorary knighthood."

So what did he get this for - being the biggest ripp-off merchant the planet has ever known?

King Kong | December 30, 2005 at 05:29 PM

So in conclusion, as I am getting the Orange 2 for 1 offer on this it's worth it at half price?

Friday Fumblings On The Web | December 30, 2005 at 05:27 PM

cyke:
The BBC lets us know 100 things we didn't know this time last year including gems like;

11. One in 10 Europeans is allegedly conceived in an Ikea bed.
23. In America it's possible to subpoena a dog.
45. C3PO and R2D2 do not speak to each other off-camera because the actors don't get on.

Pub conversation starters like that are gold-dust !

This is good, where is it from?

Piracy | December 30, 2005 at 05:24 PM

Azrael Strife: Then downloading a copy of, say, Star Wars Episode III isn't piracy either, as I want it for my personal use, nothing more

It is in a way, if you don't pay out for that copy then the studio bosses don't get to expand their bloated purses so much and they are trying to stamp out that just as much as copying to sell. if everyone just copies the movie, they loose out.

Anyway don't nag - I'll vote.

Anyone Not Got Snow? | December 30, 2005 at 05:15 PM

It's just started raining here - I guess that was it for the snow then. I hate the slush, just hope it doesn't freeze now.
