Violence In Computer Games!

Just curious about how many games people own, and how many are violent (proper violence, not Mario jumping on koopa troopas), and which system they are for. I realise this lacks scientific rigour, relax yourselves and feel free to contribute or not.

I own 18 Xbox games, 15 of which are violent. 12 Gamecube games, 5 violent. 8 SNES games, 1 violent. 10 PC games, 7 violent.

I am greatly curious about violence in games. I don't think it spurs anyone except the truly mental on to killing sprees, but it does interest me.

I think this is a good idea but lets be more objective about it - for instance, does anything that has war in the theme constitute violence and how would you categorise a game such as Civilization or the X-Com series? After all, people die. War is hell!

Trust me, I'm a doctor.

I think war being included in the theme makes a game violent, yes, but I'm trying not to get too bogged down in definitions...ok, sod it, any violence at all, even cartoonish violence.

I know you don't want to go too much into this but I think this is a great idea and a chance to find out about peoples choices in games. I also think there is mileage in noting percentages of violent to none violent games. Okay I'm off to see what I have got - this may take some time.

Edit:

Hells bells, I've just been sat here thinking about what you said 'IE not getting too involved' it suddenly occured that if we use the 'all violence' criteria it probably icludes everything but Sim-needlework and Stamp Tycoon! This is complicated. Okay - disregard any posts I made on this subject

Edit 2:

I thought I had it taped, that is until the girlfriend pointed out that "Robot Wars" is a great example of a game where no one gets killed but it's full of mindless violence.
Mmm, anyway, here's my list in 3 catagories.

32 games - all PC 15 violent, 12 semi violent and 5 none violent.

Trust me, I'm a doctor.
