Got interested in a game monikered Call of Cthulhu for Xbox. FPS adventure game, graphics nothing special but gameplay was meant to be good and I've always had a spot for gothic horror, and it's been a while since I bought a 'new' game, I find myself getting more and more retro as I look at newer consoles and PCs with their ever-rising costs.

Had a bit of a nose around, ummed and ahhed, then checked out my favourite place to shop, ebay, where everything can usually be found cheaper than anywhere else.

Found a copy in short order, five hours to go, all of five quid fifty in price. Used, but not too shabby.

I figured it would double and stop there, seeing as you can get it new and cheap from other places.

But no. It went on, and soon ended up at £20 plus. This confuses me. I know a few people who use ebay, and they generally check everywhere before buying or selling on there. I just don't understand why someone is so blind as to do this.

Confused.

FPS horror adventure. No HUD, so it's immersive. You don't even get any weapons for the first few hours of gameplay, apparently, which I think is a nice touch. Seems to have recieved good reviews pretty much everywhere, solid eight out of tens.

I'm looking forward to it, to say the least.

Hmm... no weapons for the first few hours sounds like Jedi Knight 2 whereby they give you several hours of background story and gameplay and force you to run around with a blaster the whole time.

Though I take it in this case no weapons means no confrontations? Or just good old fists 'n feet?

No, there are enemies, but without weapons you just have to scarper and lock doors behind you, which delays them for a wee while.
