Where Did You All Go? | June 8, 2007 at 06:59 PM

Ah, HobNobs, the clitoris of the biscuit world. At least they weren't hidden behind a bush, anyway.

Fret not (or don't fret)! Looking for the sugar and got lost.

Typical bloke. Good sense of direction, except in the kitchen.

A certain age, eh? Better than an uncertain one and a statutory rape charge, at any rate.

*snaps on the gloves*

Oh, it's like going through Customs all over again. Bend over, spread 'em, turn your head and cough, etc.

No, wait, that was my last girlfriend.

Start at the bottom, fnar fnar, and work our way up.

I'm never one to shirk a duty, however pleasurable.

Where Did You All Go? | May 24, 2007 at 02:15 AM

Like the Ghost of Websites Past, I refuse to disappear.

Like the Duracell bunny, I suppose. Only, with slightly better typing. And not as pink.

Wait. Was it pink? I can't remember.

Having just bought my Wii, I can confidently say, none of that is ever, ever going to happen to me...

The Violence of the Lambs. Fucking excellent. The Welsh are next.

Severance | December 21, 2006 at 12:56 PM

Pretty good flick, this. I find Dyer's accent incredibly amusing ("Turn aahraaahnd."), there were a couple of references to Dr. Strangelove, some nice gore, some bloody good laughs and overall, it was a lot better than Evil Aliens or Wilderness, but not as good as Slither.

In a similar sort of vein, though. hur hur.

The Thing - Remake? | December 8, 2006 at 07:45 PM

One of my favourite horror films ever is about to receive a remake. John Carpenter's The Thing, itself often called a remake (though it isn't, I hasten to add) is going to receive the remake treatment.

Now, at first, the project was called a 'prequel' which befuddled me some, as I couldn't see how that would work. Rightly enough, it now turns out it's a flat-out remake, but they are apparently calling it a "companion piece". I feel the quotation marks are fully deserved. I feel quite ill.

It's like they decided, "Oh, we can't top JC's effort, but we'll remake it anyway and because we know we can't compete directly, we'll call it a companion piece and try to dodge some of the criticism that way."

Shite.

Won't somebody think of the children? Where will they do drugs now? Out in the cold? For shame!

Games? Fun? | November 3, 2006 at 12:27 AM

I had a discussion with a mate about this, and we share a similar opinion of games, and fun, but disagree over the exact meaning of the word 'fun'. So it's more an issue of semantics than disagreeing about what games should and should not be.

Sorry, Warren.

Monster House! | November 2, 2006 at 12:29 AM

Known as 'Neighbourhood Crimes & Peepers' in the Philippines (no, for real), this is actually an entertaining animated advenchoor.

I thought it was going to be a bit kiddified, but no, soon there were jokes about murder and manslaughter, bottles full of piss, bodies encased in concrete, a pair of moronic policemen, a joke about the uvula (nope, not part of the genitals) and an arcade-game-playing expert on the supernatural. Among other things.

Kept me amused, anyway.

Big. Girls. Blouses. | November 1, 2006 at 11:10 AM

As far as EH goes, it was a close call for me. That video of the first crew of the EH fucking/killing each other was mental.
