Well season 1 is under £30 on Amazon, so even if it doesn't tickle your fancy you can probably sell it on eBay or somewhere like that for the same price you bought it

There's also full frontal nudity in the pilot, but only the pilot. It's not intergalactic porn or anything like that!

I know, I know, but when you're average audience for sci-fi is supposedly too young to know what boobs are...

I think part of the success of Stargate is that it taps into the surprisingly popular theory that aliens had something to do with the building of ancient sites such as the Egyptian pyramids and Stonehenge.

I do actually prefer it to Star Trek because they don't go overboard with the irritating idea that humans are morally superior to every alien race in the universe and that if we boast about our superior morality to them they will apologise for backsliding and suddenly change their ways. Look at the resentment that is caused whenever America imposes its moral standards on some other country.

Also, Star Trek is a little too obvious in its attempts to attract teenage male viewers - this was the main purpose of Seven of Nine in Voyager and T'Pol in Enterprise. The poor actresses spent the whole time wearing costumes that showed their figures to best advantage instead of the more conservative Starfleet uniforms.

And that is why, amongst other things like decent story arcs and interesting characters, Deep Space Nine was, and still remains to this day, the best Star Trek series there is.

Stargate's a whole different ball game, but all the more entertaining because of it.

Stargate Atlantis is also just as enjoyable!
