I have just heard that James Bond has taken delivery of his new car for the forth-coming Bond Movie 'Casino Royale'. Aston Martin? Ferrari? Lotus? No - Ford Mondeo!!!
That's right, a sodding Ford Mondeo. For the second time in my life I can trully say that I own the same car as James Bond but in this case I'm not sure it has the kudos.

Seems that Ford owning all the car factories in the world has more drawbacks than first thought.

I now eagerly await their next re-make Bond films, these are to be:-
Ford Your Eyes Only.
Sigh Another Mondeo.
Dr NO GO.
Spies Like Rust.
Octogenarian.
Goldminger.

Feel free to add your own.

Have you seen the new bloke who's playing Bond? Forget his name, was in Layer Cake. He can act. Which is nice.

From Skoda With Love.

Ivory | March 6, 2006 at 05:35 PM

mmmmmmmm he can act....but can he do a decent bond, we shall see

silvertongedevil | March 6, 2006 at 05:37 PM

Daniel Craig - I may have spelt it wrong. Yeah, fabulous actor, I've seen a black and white somewhere of him as bond and he kind of has the 'old bond' look. I'm just not sure the girlies will go for him though, particularly in his Mondeo Diesel Estate with ladder rack and tow bar.

Not so much Oh Oh Seven - more Oh oh dear!

Ivory | March 6, 2006 at 07:56 PM

if he kicks ass, and spews out as many crappy pick up lines as the old bond used to!.....it wont matter what car he drives *sigh*

Azrael Strife | March 7, 2006 at 12:09 AM

Hopefully he won't suck as much as Pierce Brosnan did.

Lady_Castlemaine | March 7, 2006 at 01:07 PM

Azrael Strife: Hopefully he won't suck as much as Pierce Brosnan did.

Nathen, don't go knocking Pierce, we dont want any fights around here, I think Pierce is absolutely lovely and if he wants to suck then who am I to disagree!!! ( PS.your terminology - not mine - or FA's !!!!).

Ivory | March 7, 2006 at 05:52 PM

is it possible to suck any worse than Pierce? lol
talking abotu products... (loosly) i HATE that sex sells everything, even tooth paste for fuck sake!- how is that possible, cant advertisers think of a decent ORIGINAL advert anymore!?

Accounting Troll | March 7, 2006 at 07:49 PM

For me, the very worst adverts are those adult chatlines that advertise after the watershed. I mean, what kind of pathetic individual seriously thinks that the scantily clad women they feature in those adverts have any trouble picking up men?

Pete | March 7, 2006 at 08:36 PM

It goes Connery, then Pierce, THEN Moore. Sorry, but I couldn't take Moore as seriously (yes I get he's supposed to be charmingly cheesy, but don't beat me around the head with it!!!)

FullAuto | March 8, 2006 at 02:32 AM

Roger Moore is a fucking terrible Bond. He gets more senile with every scene. Timothy Dalton wasn't too bad. Even Lazenby was ok, but he only got one film.

Lady_Castlemaine | March 8, 2006 at 11:47 AM

I think you're all taking the Bond thing too seriously!!! (stands back and awaits the blows) - they have pretty much all given the Bond character his own little foibles, I can't say I'm much of a fan of the films but I do particularly like the stunts and special effects. I think I'll wait and see what the latest offering has to show, but as I don't have a telly I'll probably have to see it at the cinema (wed is good "2for1 with Orange" - oops sorry more product placement!!!). LC x

silvertongedevil | March 8, 2006 at 06:32 PM

In reality spies tend to be the most ordinary of people. Wouldn't it be good to see Peter Kay or Mel Smith as Bond.

It's a good job Ford never bought out Reliant!!!!!

Ivory | March 8, 2006 at 06:36 PM

i will not be watching this film...not becasue if "new" or i dont liek the bond, but just because the films dont do anythign for me...sorry boys *shrug* i can think of much better ways to spend the afternoons.

Accounting Troll | March 8, 2006 at 07:30 PM

So would the boys if it wasn't for one key factor - Bond girls!!!

silvertongedevil | March 9, 2006 at 12:17 PM

Really? It seems to me that it's been a few years since they had a decent Bond girl - or am I just getting old?

Ivory | March 14, 2006 at 07:13 PM

they had decent bond girls? lol just kiddign.....your right, everything about the CLASSIC james bond seems to be goign down the shoot

Accounting Troll | March 14, 2006 at 08:26 PM

To be fair, I kind of liked Halle Berry. Even though that scene of her emerging from the water was copied from one of the Sean Connery era James Bond films.

I also miss Blofeld and his cat. There was something wonderfully malevolent about the way he would stroke his cat and say "Ah, Mr Bond." before explaining all his plans to James Bond and then ordering his execution in a needlessly complicated manner.

Yeah I remember that one - Ursula Undress but I can't remember which film it was.

Accounting Troll | March 14, 2006 at 09:50 PM

Dr No.

James Bond drove a Sunbeam ALpine in that one.

Ivory | March 15, 2006 at 06:50 PM

every male likes her, its nothign to do wiht ACTING TALENT! *rolls eyes* lol no a fat, minger who you still like as a bond girl- THATS a success!

Accounting Troll | March 15, 2006 at 07:09 PM

Hey, why pick on the Bond girls? None of the people who played James Bond could act, either.

The worst of the bunch is Sean Connery. Look at some of the other acting roles he has taken his strong Scottish accent to:

- King Arthur, who was Romano-British (ie Welsh)
- Richard I of England in Robin Hood, Prince of Thieves. Richard I actually had a strong French accent and barely spoke a word of English.
- And let's not forget the Russian submarine commander in Hunt for Red October!

FullAuto | March 15, 2006 at 07:21 PM

Not forgetting Highlander, a Spaniard who had spent time in Japan, and had a thicker accent than supposed Scotsman, Christopher Lambert.

Fucking amazing. I applaud you, Connery. Genius.

And Connery was, by far, the best Bond.

Ivory | March 15, 2006 at 07:39 PM

i wasnt picking on anyone...i was mearly making a point. the same applies to bond. find a minger and see if he can still sell sex appeal- then you have a genius
